Four Fires is for any adult man with at least a basic appreciation for enduring things like human friendship, free thought & speech, traditional virtues, the challenges of personal growth & leadership, and our universal need for community.

You can’t stand those jerks at the office? Start a Four Fires group with your hockey pals instead.

You can’t.

By design, local Four Fires groups are invite-only.

Casting a wide net and publicizing for growth is a recipe for failure.

Four Fires is about real community.  It’s not a Facebook group.

While there’s nothing wrong with professional societies, charitable organizations, and church groups that thrive on growth, we’re doing something different here.

And trust is key.

By only inviting select members, local Four Fires groups are able to ensure a good fit and build authentic relationships at the right pace. This allows for trust and mutual accountability to develop and mature naturally.

And, it spares you the headaches of vetting total strangers.

So, you can’t easily find a local group and jump in.

But, the good news is how easy and highly rewarding it is to get a few friends together and start your own.

You’ll find that this concept of non-discovery helps ensure Four Fires groups are built to last.

Anyone.

There aren’t any hurdles, applications, or approvals.

There’s no catch.

So, if you want to do this, nobody’s stopping you.

Four Fires is intended for groups of adult male friends.  By design, you can’t just go looking for a local group and join it. 

Instead, you take the initiative, run it past a few of your friends and start your own group.

You do!

Each group manages its own membership and activities.

Central resources like this website are designed to support local chapters and provide focus and inspiration.

“Freely together” is the secret sauce here.

One of our core concepts is keeping centralized management to an absolute minimum, so there are no official applications, fees, or hurdles of any kind.

It’s not a trap. It’s an idea whose time has come.

We try to make it as easy as possible for you to start and grow your own Four Fires group.

The official Four Fires brand, website (https://4xfires.org), and related communications are managed by a small advisory council of original founders.

While Four Fires is patterned on traditional Christian concepts and managed by a group of guys who are generally at church on Sunday, it is neither affiliated with nor sponsored by any church or faith-based organization.

Membership & participation is not exclusive. Four Fires groups are constituted of men from all different faith systems & journeys, including non-belief.

We’ve asked. Here are the top things we’ve heard.

3. The benefits of real community, beyond just having fun.

Guys often mention that Four Fires discussions cover important topics and areas of growth that they have not always been able to broach in other conventional venues like religious, charitable, and professional organizations.

This became very apparent during the Covid-19 lockdowns of 2020-21, where isolation and despair was on everyone’s doorstep.

Four Fires was born out of that darkness.

Our mission is to help men find the personal strength and guidance they need to lead themselves and their communities toward more healthy and humane states.

We do this by promoting the observance of a simple social ritual for men grounded in mutual accountability, self-determination, free & open conversation, and a connection to seasonal celebrations familiar to our human ancestors.

By the year 2030, we want to see at least one thousand (1000) Four Fires groups started worldwide.
